The Marshall University Marathon is proud to offer the Don Tillis Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors from Ohio or West Virginia who plan to attend Marshall University in the fall.

The scholarship honors Don Tillis, a runner, civil engineer, man of faith, and someone who truly lived life to the fullest. Don passed away while running the Marshall University Half Marathon in 2024 while doing something he loved. He was known for his incredible work ethic, generosity, and desire to help others.

Through this scholarship, we hope to continue Don’s legacy by supporting students who demonstrate strong character, determination, and involvement in their communities.

The Don Tillis Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually for the next several years and is funded through generous donations. Information and applications for the 2027 scholarship will be announced early next year.
